Free Online Calculators

Sick pay in Norway, severance in Italy, a pension estimate in Slovakia: the answers are set by law, but the law is hard to read. Calcotia turns the official rules of 10 countries into free calculators in the local language, with every step of the working shown.

Why these calculators exist

Almost every question about pay at work ends in a rulebook. How much you receive when you are sick, what your holiday pay is worth this year, what a pension comes to after forty years of work: almost none of it is decided by your employer alone. It is set by labour law, social insurance rules and tax law, and the official pages that explain it are written for payroll specialists, not for the person waiting for the money.

Calcotia starts from those same official rules and turns them into a number you can check. Every calculator shows the full breakdown behind its result, names the rates it used and the year they belong to, and links the official source at the bottom of the page, so the answer is never just a number you have to take on trust.

How Calcotia works

1. Pick your country

Every country has its own section, written in its own language, because that is the language people search in when the question is about their own pay.

2. Enter your numbers

Salary, years of service, a few dates: only what the official formula actually needs. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

3. See the full working

The result comes with the calculation broken into steps, so you can follow it, question it, and compare it with your payslip or your employer's offer.

Built on each country's official rules

The formulas come from the bodies that actually run these systems: NAV in Norway, the Federal Employment Agency's rulebook in Germany, the CAF and Urssaf in France, INPS in Italy, Japan's National Tax Agency, the KEPEA and GSEE guidance used in Greece, Vietnam's social insurance law, Sociálna poisťovňa in Slovakia, and Serbia's family benefits law. Where a rule has a range, a cap or a local variation, the page says so openly instead of hiding it behind a single tidy number.

Why people trust Calcotia

Every calculator follows the law and the rates published by the official body in that country, and each page links its sources.

Updated for 2026

Questions people ask about Calcotia

Is Calcotia really free?

Yes. Every calculator on this site is free to use, with no account, no sign up and no paywall. The site is supported by advertising, never by charging the people who come here for an answer.

Are these the official government calculators?

Usually the official bodies do not publish a simple calculator at all, only the law and long guidance pages. Ours are independent calculators that implement the official formulas and current rates, and each page links its official sources so you can verify the rule yourself.

Why is every country section in a different language?

Because these entitlements are national. A holiday pay rule in Norway only exists in Norwegian law, and the people it affects search for it in Norwegian. Writing each section in the local language keeps the legal terms exact and the page findable for the people who need it.

How accurate is the result?

The calculators follow the standard rules and the rates for the year shown on the page, and they are tested against worked examples before they go live. Individual cases can still differ, for example under a collective agreement or a special scheme, and where a calculator simplifies a rule, the page says so.

Do you store the numbers I type in?

No. Every calculation runs entirely in your own browser. Your salary, dates and other figures never leave your device and are not saved anywhere.

About Calcotia

Calcotia exists for one simple reason: the money questions people ask at work, like how much sick pay, holiday pay, severance or pension they will actually get, are answered by complicated official rules in every country, yet most people just need a clear number with the working shown. We build one careful calculator per country, in that country's own language, using the official formula and current rates, and we show every step so you can check the result yourself.
